SETTING THE TTL

Changing the Time to Live (TTL) on a domain is done when a customer wishes to move their domain here or somewhere else. Usually, we set all the values to 15 minutes. Since the TTL:(expire) is 7 days, setting it to 15 minutes will cause the Root DNS servers to dump the domain from their cache.

Typically, we ask that the domain's TTL is changed 7 days before the switch.
